Man vs Society Conflict

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6rRn8kM4-ds     -This is a link to the movie trailer for "V for Vendetta".

As an example of man vs. society I have chosen to use the movie “V for Vendetta”. In this movie the main character “V” as he develops in the movie stands up against his newly elected totalitarian government. V goes about standing up against this government by using several acts of terrorism. He says in the movie that “People should not be afraid of their governments. Governments should be afraid of their people." Totalitarianism is basically when a government seeks to control everything from political and economic matters, to the beliefs, values and attitudes of its people. The society in “V for Vendetta” is being forced to do everything that the totalitarian government wants them to do. Man vs. society is when a figure disagrees with a society's laws, values, or beliefs. So now when we look at it there is “V” vs. The Government.

Man vs Man Conflict

The movie "Never Back Down" contains Man vs. Man conflict between the main characters Jake Tyler and and Ryan. It all starts when Jake Tyler has to move because his little brother gets into a prestigious tennis school and because he gets into a fight at his old school during a football game. When everyone at Jake's new school learns of this fight and watches it the "Tough Guy" of the school Ryan has Jake lured to a party where the rivalry between the two starts. The battle between them ends at a huge secret fight contest. I believe this movie shows a great example of Man vs. Man Conflict.
